Generally, the firm works on the basis of a contingency fee contract for services rendered. We are paid a percentage of the money we recover for you, whether by way of benefits recovered, settlement payment, or court judgment collected. You pay nothing unless we are successful in obtaining a recovery for you. There are certain circumstances where the firm may agree to work on the basis of an hourly fee contract, but those circumstances are limited and we require a sufficient advance deposit to secure payment of the anticipated attorney’s fees.
Generally, the firm will advance/pay the cost of claim/case expenses on your behalf, which you must then reimburse to the firm from any eventual recovery made by you. If there is no recovery, you will not be required to reimburse the firm for the expenses it advanced. The firm bears the risk of having paid the expenses with no reimbursement if there is no recovery.
The attorney’s fees are calculated based on the gross/total recovery, before reimbursement of case expenses are subtracted.
