Mr. Thompson has practiced law since November 1997.  He spent the first five years of his practice pursuing justice for injured individuals, then transitioned into a business litigation practice.  Over the next 14 years, he gained extensive experience and insight into the operations and legal practices of various businesses, including many insurance companies.  Mr. Thompson spent nearly 10 years as a shareholder of a large, highly respected Texas law firm.  During that time, in addition to litigating complex disputes between businesses, he spent significant time litigating insurance coverage disputes involving property and casualty insurance, as well as, health insurance, life insurance, and ERISA disability insurance matters.

In 2016, with the benefit of 19 years of legal insight, Mr. Thompson returned to his roots of representing individuals.  He partnered with his longtime friend and early mentor, Bernard Guerrini, and focused his practice on helping disabled workers recover the short term and long term disability insurance benefits wrongfully denied/terminated by their insurance companies.  In 2018, the firm was renamed Guerrini & Thompson, P.C.

After 45 years of practicing law, Mr. Guerrini retired in August 2023 and is no longer practicing with the firm.  Mr. Guerrini had practiced law since November of 1978. He started his practice with large defense firms engaging in an insurance defense practice including personal injury, property and casualty, and professional liability cases. Mr. Guerrini started his own firm in 1992 and began concentrating on ERISA short and long term disability claims in 2000.

He combined his extensive knowledge and experience in insurance law with years of dealing with medical issues to pursue a desirable result for his clients. He represented his client zealously and with diligence.

Mr. Guerrini was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1978. He was also admitted to practice in the following courts:

• Southern Districts of Texas
• United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals

He graduated from St. Edward’s University in 1969 with a B.S. Degree in Chemistry. He spent six years as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps before attending law school in 1975. He graduated in 1978 from the University of Houston School of Law, with a J.D., magna cum laude.

Mr. Guerrini was a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association and Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.
